Amazing concert helps support church’s “magnificent” organ

A concert entitled “A forgotten art form” will be held at St Saviour’s and St Peter’s Church in South Street on Monday October 4 at 1pm.

This is an organ duets recital given by Robert Munns and Brian Newman

Entry is free with a retiring collection in aid of the “magnificent” organ. Paul Collins of St Saviour’s said: “Please come along to what promises to be a fascinating hour of extraordinary music. This is a concert of real music written for two players at one console, with compositions from all around the world, including Austria, France, Canada and the United States. It really is a forgotten art and it’s as much about ‘keeping out of each others’ way’ as coping with the music itself. Robert and Brian are both very distinguished players in their own right. They have been friends for many years and have played a lot together. This promises to be a very entertaining concert, please support us and give as much as you can so that we can keep our ‘grand old girl’ going for as long as possible.”
