EASTBOURNE Regatta returns this Bank Holiday weekend to raise cash for the RNLI for the seventh year.
The event, which runs from Friday (August 26) to Monday (August 29), will have a range of attractions on offer at Sovereign Harbour both on and off the water.
Visitors to the four-day regatta can enjoy yacht racing, a rowing race, a power boat race and a fishing boat race throughout the weekend.
The stalls, including a farmer’s market, will open at 10am on Saturday (August 27).
Jewellery, crafts, handmade wooden toys, jams, pickles and chocolates are just some of the goodies which will be on offer.
There will be entertainment from bands and dancing groups. The Mediterraneans Flamenco, Kids in a Sweet Shop, Sea Gypsies Belly Dancers, No Exit Band, Dave B’s Rockin Years, Cushty, Bedlam, Band Raid, Short Attention Span and the Long Man Morris Dancers will all be entertaining the crowds.
The beer tent will be open from noon until 11pm each day and will serve a variety of real ales, lagers, wine, bottled drinks, and soft drinks.
There is also a fun fair throughout the weekend to keep the little ones amused.
The annual event has so far raised more than £60,000 for Eastbourne RNLI.
All funds go towards maintaining the charity’s lifeboats and crews to ensure it can fulfil it role of saving lives at sea.
Eastbourne has a busy lifeboat station and 2010 has saw 112 launches.
