Fitting for a seaside town, Chas and Dave bring their Summer Special tour to the Congress Theatre, Eastbourne, for one-night only on Thursday, July 17 - and tickets are in high demand.
Back on the road, having just completed a 60-date sell out tour, Chas Hodges and Dave Peacock know how to give a crowd a good time and have gained a cult audience of both young and old fans.
Singer songwriter Jamie Cullum heralded them his musical heroes and since supporting The Libertines on their 2004 tour and performing at Glastonbury Chas & Dave have been regulars on the festival circuit.
This year they are appearing at Hop Farm festival and also supporting Status Quo on tour.
Chas & Dave reached the top 20 in 1979 with Gertcha, which became a nationwide catchphrase. This was followed by The Sideboard Song (Got My Beer in the Sideboard Here).
In 1980 they hit the charts with Rabbit, which reached No. 8, and a had a No. 2 record in 1982 Ain’t No Pleasing You. This was followed by further hits Margate and London Girls.
In 1986 they had a top six record with Snooker Loopy while they have also written title songs for TV shows Till Death Do Us Part and comedy classic Only Fools & Horses.
