One of the best ways to see the year gone by is through the eyes of cartoonists who strike at the high and the mighty, the proud and the pompous.
And their latest offerings are pulled together in The Best of Britain’s Political Cartoons 2013 which is edited by Tim Benson who runs Eastbourne’s Cartoon Cafe.
It encompasses the year in politics as seen by Britain’s funniest and most perceptive political cartoonists. Subjects include the Olympics, Leveson inquiry and the horsemeat scandal.
It is a tribute to the art, power and intelligence of the country’s finest cartoonists such as, Chris Riddell, Peter Brookes and many more.
Tim will be signing copes of the book at WHSmith in Terminus Road, Eastbourne, from 2pm this Saturday (December 7).
The Cartoon Cafe, the only permanent exhibition space dedicated to original cartoon art in the United Kingdom, is centrally located in Eastbourne at 102 Seaside - just a stone’s throw from Eastbourne’s Pier and seafront and being next to the Hippodrome Theatre. It opens 10am to 5pm daily - call 07973 622371 for more details.
