More than 100 images will be available for viewing in the Eastbourne Photographic Society’s exhibition from Saturday April 30 at the Da Vinci Art Hotel in Howard Square.
The show will run until May 29 and is open daily 10-4pm. There will be an informal reception on the opening night and the exhibition will be opened by MP Caroline Ansell.
Eastbourne Photographic Society is one of the oldest photographic clubs in the South East. One of its first exhibitions was held in the Winter Garden Floral Hall in 1895.
The objective of this year’s event is to show images by all members of the society, from members taking their first photographic steps to those who have had images accepted in international salons. Included is Shopkeeper by Roy Morris, on our page 57 Wow cover.
The Society currently has over 80 members and meets on Friday evenings at Eastbourne Blind Centre from September to the end of April.
The Society hosts regular workshops to share information and techniques with a view to continually raise the standard of work. The year 2015/16 has been a successful year - recently, the society won the Open Class of the Sussex Photographic Federation with eight prints competing against 18 other clubs. The Society will welcome new members in September. For more info contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
