Plumpton Racecourse blaze: cars, lorries and one bus on fire as Brighton, Barcombe and Lewes crews attend incident

Firefighters were called to a multiple vehicle fire at Plumpton Racecourse on Sunday night (August 14).

East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said they received the report at 11.42pm.

They said: “Crews from Brighton, Barcombe and Lewes attended together with support from West Sussex Fire and Rescue.

“Firefighters used four Breathing Apparatus, 1 in 7 foam and one hose reel to extinguish a fire affecting two cars, one bus, three HGVs and a portacabin.”

Firefighters left the scene at 3.04am.

The cause of the fire was deemed accidental.
