Concentus soon to perform at Royal Hippodrome Theatre autumn 2016

Have your say

Concentus will take to the stage of the Royal Hippodrome Theatre in aid of St Wilfred’s Hospice on Friday October 7 at 7.30pm.

The choir is already preparing for the event but also looking for new members to join their friendly group.

Spokesman Helen Carbonell-Ferrer commented; “The first September Concentus rehearsals are ones I particularly enjoy, always great social affairs, so many smiling faces both familiar and new to greet and meet. This year, we also helped recognise our great choirmaster Adrian White’s rather landmark birthday! Longanimity aside, Adrian previewed our Christmas Programme. Without giving too much away, I am excited about the traditional Haydn, Bruckner, Vivaldi, Strauss and Mendelssohn numbers, peppered of course by other timeless classics such as Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer and Frosty The Snowman which help give Concentus those fun twists that keep audiences returning year after year.

And although I know them so well, we can’t wait to sing our favourite carols again. Come and see us in December folks, and you can sing them too!”

Concentus is looking for new members, particurly male tenor and bass. Anyone interested, experienced or not, can call secretary Evelyn Smith on 01323 643358, or email on, and then come along for a couple of tries and meet the gang at the United Reform Church Hall in Watts Lane.
