Polegate perform well against talented Sidley
Polegate & Stone Cross Under-10s were set a stern challenge when they faced an experienced and unbeaten Sidley team.
Sidley batted first and racked up an imposing 281 in their sixteen overs for the loss of only four wickets.
Pick of the bowling attack was once again Freddie Bobbin with his two overs only going for two runs and gaining one wicket.
Sam Williams, Ryan Hover and Ben Berry also picked up a wicket apiece, whilst keeper James Earl performed tidily behind the stumps.
After a steady start with the bat, second pair Baseer Sepahi and Charlie Travers commendably looked to step on the gas to give the team a chance of victory.
However, it was not to be with a clutter of wickets falling, including a couple of run outs.
Third batting pair Ben Berry (with 7 not out) and Jack Corbett (with 11 not out) displayed a similarly aggressive outlook.
However, despite their best efforts, Polegate & Stone Cross could only amass a final total of 223, faced with a disciplined Sidley bowling attack that gave little away, backed up by an energetic fielding display.
