Ocklynge School played host to Polegate & Stone Cross U11’s first league game v Hellingly U11. Polegate won the toss and elected to bat first.

Henry Durtnall and Jasper Curtis got the innings off to a good start before William Lucas and Stanley Bobbin put on 41runs. The third pairing of Dominic Simes and Charlie Travers were pegged back by some good bowling, whilst Tom Carpenter and Ben Witham took the score to 298 without further loss at the end of the 16th over. Further steady batting from the final pairing of Joseph Scott-Jones and Joshua Levett got the total up to 320 at the end of the Polegate innings.

Joshua Levett took a wicket in the first over, whilst Tom Carpenter, Henry and Jasper kept up the pressure. Stanley took the second wicket and Ben, Josh and Tom gave little away. Henry took two wickets in two balls while Jasper took a great caught and bowled. Wickets for Charlie, Ben and Henry prevented further runs being added to the total with the final visitors reply being 224 for 10 at the close. Polegate won the match by 96runs and take 6pts from the fixture.
