Willingdon Warriors U15s

Willingdon Warriors U15s

Willingdon Warriors U15s were the surprise winners at the Ratton Rangers U15 five-a-side tournament .

The Warriors played some exquisite passing football to reach the semi-final by finishing second in their group. After overcoming one Eastbourne Borough in the semi final, they were taken all the way by the much fancied Eastbourne Borough Black in the final.

After taking a 2-0 lead, Warriors conceded two to let Borough force the game into extra time and penalties. Warriors eventually won the nail-biting shoot out 3 -2 with the final kick from Ryan Smith. The Winning squad of Sam Marchant (GK), Ryan Smith, Gareth Winwood, Nathan Maskell, Harvey Marshall , Robbie Callingham and Matthew Fear all contributed to a fine performance and a first trophy for Willingdon Warriors. (Manager: Harry Marchant, coach: Gary Callingham).

Unbeaten Cavendish continue top form in final

The year seven football team at Cavendish School took their unbeaten record to Hastings Untied Football ground to play William Parker School in the final.

Cavendish started the game very strongly. A burst from the middle by Charlie Ferguson followed by a powerful 20-yard strike opened the scoring in superb fashion.

Five minutes later Isaac Hutchinson doubled the lead with another thumping shot.

Some great defending by the Cavendish captain Jack Dunmore and Will Stevens kept William Parker at bay.

Cavendish played even better after half time and it was not long before Isaac completed his hat-trick with two more excellent finishes.

Cavendish never lost their shape and continued to dominate the game until the final whistle.
