Dates set for Borough Academy player trials

Eastbourne Borough Football Club have announced the trial dates for their Football Academy for the 2013-14 season.

Borough will work in partnership with SCL, an Education and Training provider, and will be recruiting a squad of talented players for the new Football Academy.

Successful candidates will train like professionals on a daily basis and will be supported in the development of their football performance, game understanding, while improving fitness levels under the guidance of highly-qualified and experienced FA Coaches at the club.

Academy students will represent the club in the U19 Football Conference Youth Alliance, viewed as the senior national youth competition outside of the professional game.

Football Academy students will continue their studies in the classroom at Priory Lane and will work with SCL and their qualified team of teachers.

They deliver academic studies such as, Level 2 & Level 3 Sports Diploma combined with FA Coaching qualifications. They will include core skills in Math’s and English.

CIC chairman Paul Maynard said, “This is another huge step forward towards the club looking and feeling like a professional football club. It follows our move towards daytime training for the first team and the successful launch of the Development Centre.”

Trials for players aged 16-18 years will be held on:

February: Tuesday 19, (during half term)

April: Tuesday 9 and Wednesday 10 (during the Easter holiday)
