Young striker Taylor goes back to Millwall

Eastbourne Borough have terminated the extended loan period of Lyle Taylor who has returned to Millwall.

Taylor, 18, who came on to score the winning goal against Stevenage, has since had three starts, but has spent recent games virtually glued to the bench.

Head coach Nick Greenwood said, "He did get that fantastic goal which threw him into the limelight. But we have had a good look at him – he started against Mile Oak, Ebbsfleet and at Barrow –and we do not think he is yet ready for starts in Conference National football.

"The decision was 100 per cent ours; the lad has great potential, but remember he is still learning his trade. He wasn't getting into the Millwall reserves side regularly and there is a world of difference between Millwall reserves and Blue Square Premier."

Borough will take a full strength side to Worthing for tonight's Sussex Senior Cup tie in the hope that a welcome win will restore confidence before Saturday's tough match at Burton Albion.
