THE Olympic Torch is coming to Sussex soon and supporters who are attending the Clydesdale Bank 40 fixture between Sussex Sharks and Kent Spitfires on July 16 at Arundel Castle should be aware of several details which coincides with the Torch Relay.

The club advise spectators to leave extra time for their journey in order to arrive in good time for the match.

The gate opening times have been brought forward to 11.45am (1.45pm start time) to encourage supporters to travel earlier.

The Torch Relay passes through the town of Arundel on the day and road closure signs are already on display. The torch arrives from the west on the A27 at around 3.30pm turning into Maltravers Street. It will have left Arundel by 4.17pm.

The match begins at 1.45pm which means the actual relay should have little effect on those attending the game. However, for those arriving late to the ground, the High Street and road towards the station will be closed to vehicles from 2pm onwards.

The A29 from inland should not be affected, other than heavier traffic than normal.
