Brighton University is set to host its annual boxing show this Saturday (tomorrow) at the Eastbourne campus.
The show will demonstrate the best of boxing talent across the south east in 12 scheduled bouts.
There will be a wide variety of fights on show from first-time boxers to experienced fighters and both male and female matches will take place.
Legendary boxer Chris Eubank’s son Seb Eubank will be taking part in the headline bout.
There will also be five University of Brighton students in fights. Alexandra Frost, Richard Keating and Shaffique Ssenkumba will be taking part in their debuts competitions. Experienced University boxers Connor Sturt and Lee Jenkins will also take to the ring.
The club are encouraging anyone to come down and experience live boxing.
Coach Adam Haniver said, “It is Brighton University hosting top class fights for boxers from different clubs across the south east. This is going to be boxing with entertainment and a real eye-opener - something not always seen.”
The club are hoping to create a fantastic show with ring entry music and strobe lights. The main focus this year is to get all ages and all experiences of boxing involved.
Haniver added, “Last year we hosted the show at Atlantis nightclub on the Eastbourne pier which is a great venue but not family friendly.
“This year we want everyone to get involved and experience it. That is why we picked the Hillbrow Sports Centre.”
The boxing show is being hosted by the University boxing club at Hillbrow Sports Centre on Denton Road and doors open at 3PM with the first fight scheduled at 3.30PM.
The event is open to the public and tickets will be available on the door. Refreshments will be available at the venue.
Tickets are priced at £15 for adults and £10 for Students and Under 16s.
