Leaders HMI show red-hot form at Fire Brigade

The top two teams in division three of the Eastbourne Snooker League both returned 3-2 wins.

The current leaders HMI D defeated the Fire Brigade with wins from Mark Galt, Simon Watts and Scott Fever.

Keith Hobden and Robin Wilkinson replied for the Fire Brigade.

Seaford RBL, in second place, travelled to the Hailsham MI club to play the F team. Matt Pynn, Ian Robb and Martin Coombs recorded the winning frames.

Julian Hoskins, along with Dave Clark, claimed the HMI F points.

Hailsham Club B entertained Eastbourne Con Club and the visitors recorded a 3-2 away victory.

The match was decided on the final frame as Phil Carter won a close frame against Fred Stevens 45-35.

R.N.O.C. A, in mid-table, overcame Glastonbury E 3-2 with wins from Charlie Anastasi, Vic Harding and Colin Napier.

Ashley Barton and Robin Mills replied for the Glastonbury.

Dolphin F are beginning to show their form of last season with a 4-1 home win against Angling Club B.

Paul Rogers, Marika Buckland, Steve Pollard and Neil Rogers posted the winning frames.

Tony MacPhail recorded the solitary point for the Angling Club with a 64-7 win against the Dolphin F captain Stuart Alexander.

The Derby match between Fish F and A was won by the F team 4-1 with wins from Tim Smith, Dave Smith, Mal Dixon and Steve Heathet. The consolation win for Tony Deragon was a 56-30 win in frame one against Brian Dyson.

Hailsham Club C entertained XREA Railway, the visitors scored a 3-2 victory, the XREA captain Liam Brooks posted a 23 break in the last frame against Dennis Goodger for the away team win.

Railway Club A took over the top position in division two of the Eastbourne Snooker League following their fourth straight 5-0 victory this time their opponents were Hailsham Club D.

Hailsham MI B last week leaders were sitting out their bye week but remain in second place.
