Hailsham in prime position after Legion win

The top two teams in division three of the Eastbourne Snooker League Hailsham Memorial Institute D Team and Seaford Royal British Legion came face to face at the Hailsham MI Club on Tuesday.

The current leaders HMI D consolidated their top spot with a 4-1 victory.

Matt Pynn for the Seaford Legion got his team off to a great start by defeating Matt Dawber 70-33, Scott Fever, Simon Watts (29 break) the HMI D Skipper Mark Galt and a last frame walkover for Scott Vidler secured the points for the leaders. This win keeps HMI D with a Eleven point advantage.

Third placed XREA Railway fell to a 3-2 away loss by Glastonbury D. Trevor Brown, Chris Healey and Stuart Yunnie recorded the Glastonbury D winning frames.

Martin Fry and Steve Glen replied for the XREA Railway.

Phil Fry posted a 23 break but lost out 54-26 in the opening frame to Trevor Brown.

Fishermens F, seeking to gain instant promotion back into division two next season, did their chances no harm with a 5-0 home win over Eastbourne Con Club. This emphatic victory moves the Fish F team into second place in the league table.

Dolphin F continued their good run of wins with a 5-0 home victory over Hailsham MI F, Steve Pollard, Paul Rogers, Stuart Alexander, Mags Buckland and Neil Rogers posted the winning frames

Hailsham Club C entertained Royal Naval Club A. Mario Vella won the final frame on the black 40-35 to give the Naval club the 3-2 win.

The bottom two teams came face to face Hailsham Club B & Fishermens A.

The Fish A-team won the match 3-2. Terry Jane beatFred Stevens for the Fish A team win.

Fire Brigade went down 4-1 to Angling Club B.

Peter Marsden for the Brigade prevented the clean sweep by outpointing Tony McPhail 54-345 in the third frame.
