Glastonbury B win champion clash

Six-time Division One champions Dolphin A came crashing down to a 4-1 home defeat against last season’s champions Glastonbury B.

Paul Grimes, playing for the current champions, outpointed Paul Binks 63-9, Matt Bray defeating Neil Sivyer 78-24, Spencer Dain narrowly beating Nik Driver on the black 61-54 and Martin Holmes winning 47-10 against Phil White.

Peter Buckland, the Dolphin A skipper, prevented a clean sweep with a 62-16 win over Martin Wright in the second frame.

Hailsham MI C are still heading Division One following another 4-1 away win against four- man Meads A at the Fishermens Club.

Gavin Pierce was the only winner for Meads A, defeating the HMI C skipper Rob Thomas 59-45.

Polegate Legion A, lying in fourth position, crashed to a 4-1 away defeat at the Angling Club playing the A team.

Richard Anderson, Dave Wilkinson, Peter Lavington and Dave Pain recorded the wins for the home team.

Gary Jones kept up his 10-match unbeaten run with a 70-39 defeat of James Blackmar in the second frame to secure the solitary Legion point.

Nuthouse A entertained Glastonbury F and the home team enjoyed the better form to record a 4-1 victory with wins from Ian Townsend, Matt Walter, Martin Noakes and Marcel Compton.

Ian Hunt, outpointing the Nuthouse skipper Martin Halpin 62-15, secured the only Glastonbury win.

Hailsham MI A won their fifth win in a row with a 3-2 home victory against the bottom team Fishermens E, who are still seeking their first league win of the season.

Dave Proud and Craig Knapman secured the two points for the Fishermens E.

Steve Jones, Salvatore & Mark, Sciancalepore recorded the HMI A winning frames.

Glastonbury C won 3-2 against four-man Eastbourne Workingmens A.

The match was locked at two frames each, Mick Compton claiming the last frame walkover point to gain the Glastonbury C team victory.

Trevor Binks, representing the Workers, posted a 40 break in is 70-20 win over Ryan Knapman.

Seaford Con Club entertained Nuthouse B, with the home team enjoying a 4-1 win.

Gary Callingham for the Nuthouse B won the solitary point with a first frame 63-12 defeat of Gary Cooper.

Sean Payne, Ben Steer, Nick Cox & Mick Walsh recorded the Seaford Con Club winning frames.

Four-man HMI Rutherfords travelled to the Glastonbury Snooker Club to face the A team and their visit was rewarded with a 3-2 victory.

Dave Crouch, Damien Hilder, and Paul White had the wins.

Matt Smith, the Glastonbury A captain, defeated the HMI Rutherfords captain Dave Smith 62-21 for the only played win, Dan Goodchild claiming the walkover point for the home team.

In Division Two, Railway Club A took over the top league position after their fourth straight 5-0 victory, this time against Hailsham Club D.

Meads B won their first game of the season at Bollards.
