Champions Railway Club achieve a double delight

Railway Club pulled off the Snooker League division three league and cup double by winning the Presidents Cup.

The Railway triumphed against Glastonbury E at the Hailsham Club last Thursday.

Railway’s Gary Moseley went up against Colin Hadland in the opening frame and secured a 70-12 victory.

Next up for the Railway, Gavin Wright faced up to the Glastonbury proprietor Jose Martins.

In a tight frame Gavin recordeda 67-32 win.

Mark Humphries for Railway came up against the Glastonbury’s top player Damien Mills.

Mark fell well behind in the opening exchanges, Damien controlled the match with ease.

A missed brown let in Mark who took his chance with a yellow to pink clearance to claim the frame and the match for the Railway Club 3-0.

Barry’s a beauty

The Over 60s Final between Barry Kent Hailsham MI and Eddie Davis Glastonbury played at the Eastbourne Workingmens Club went the way of Barry 3-0.

Peter Watson and Matt Barnes Hailsham MI Club won the Division one Pairs trophy by defeating Paul Grimes and Ben Dain from the Glastonbury Club in the final.

Glastonbury and Seaford Legion set for battle

GLASTONBURY A and Seaford Legion will go head to head in the Eastbourne Snooker John Hughes cup final will be held at the Hailsham MI Club on Thursday, May 17, at 7.30pm.

The Eastbourne Championship Singles Final between Paul Goacher Railway Club and Peter Buckland Dolphin will be played at the Glastonbury Club on Thursday, May 24, at 7.30pm. It will be the best of seven frames.

The Astley Roberts Cup Final between Glastonbury Club C and Hailsham MI C will be held at the Fishermens Club on Thursday, May 31, 7.30pm, followed by the end of season prize presentations.

The Eastbourne Snooker League A.G.M. will be held on Thursday, June 21, at the Fishermens Club 7.30pm.
