Big breaks claim bragging rights for Glastonbury B

The derby match between the division one leaders Glastonbury B and mid table placed Glastonbury F resulted in a clean sweep by the leaders.

Paul Grimes pocketed breaks of 31 and 57 on is way to a 102-1 win against Ian Hunt.

Matt Bray posted a 52 break during his 82-5 win over Mike Goodwin. Martin Holmes recorded a 40 break in his 67-33 victory against Colin Sargent. Ben Dain overcame Barry Frankham 49-32

Spencer Dain defeated the Glastonbury F captain Andy Simpson on the black 49-36 to record the 5-0 Glastonbury B team win.

Dolphin A in second spot kept up their challenge with a 4-1 home win against Meads A.

James Loft for the Meads A won the opening frame 59-30 against Mark Crotty, Neil Sivyer, Pete Buckland (46 break).

Phil White and Nik Driver (53 break) completed the winning frames for the Dolphin A. Bollards entertained third placed Hailsham MI C. Paul Sellings for the Bollards prevented the whitewash by defeating Jack Lander 67-44. HMI C winning frames came from Ash Bull, Rob Thomas, Pete Watson and Matt Barnes.

Gary Callingham for Nuthouse B recorded the only played winning frame against HMI Rutherfords, defeating Dave Crouch 77-28. Damien Hilder, Paul White and Dave Smith posted the Rutherfords Wins. Steve Heals claimed the walkover frame for the Nuthouse B.

Vital frame for Davis

Hailsham MI A’s three match winning sequence came to a end at home, going down 3-2 against Polegate Legion A.

The Legion skipper Mark Saunders outpointed Steve Jones 65-49, Gary Jones beat Richard Frost 44-16 and Ian Davis won the vital last frame 60-5 over the HMI A skipper Mark Sciancalepore.

Hailsham MI A’s two young guns Connor McLean and Dan Carr recorded good wins. Connor defeated Sean Murphy 46-28 and Dan outpointed Paul Pickett 54-41.

Seaford Con Club fell to a surprise 4-1 home defeat by Eastbourne Workingmens Club A team. Pete Abbotts, Chris Bearne, Cyril Miles and Trevor Binks claimed the Workers victories. The Seaford Con Club captain Sean Payne prevented the whitewash pocketing a 39 break during his 89-23 over Brian Bearne.

Polegate Legion B took the opening two frames off Glastonbury B. Paul Dean overcame Ross Mabbott on the black 61-52 and Alan Dean stopped the Glastonbury C skipper Edie Davis 61-25 Bruce Meeks, Matt Lee and Mick Compton replied by winning the other frames for a 3-2 Glastonbury C victory.
