Shearing warning for Alexander

Hailsham Town boss Dave Shearing has issued a stark warning to his temperamental midfielder Ryan Alexander.

The 22-year-old picked up his 12th booking in 13 games against Whitehawk on Tuesday night and is banned for his side's crucial clash at fellow strugglers Three Bridges tomorrow (Saturday).

Shearing admitted he is beginning to lose his patience with Alexander.

He said, "We can't afford to lose one of our best players. The boy is a fool and has let the side down.

"We've had a word with him, but he's constantly in the ref's ear and can't seem to keep his trap shut.

"He's not a malicious player, just a silly player and he needs to grow up."

A victory at 15th-placed Three Bridges would see Shearing's men leapfrog their counterparts, and the Town boss has highlighted the importance of the game.

"We daren't lose the game. We lost last weekend which makes this game crucial," he said.

Meanwhile, Shearing should have Mark Reeve available for the match, but Alexander's suspension has forced the Town boss to rush Stuart Lewis back a week ahead of schedule after a knee injury.
