Young Lewis awarded Harlequins contract
Lewis Headland
Cavendish School rugby player Lewis Headland is celebrating his achievements with the Harlequins Rugby Club.
Lewis was confirmed as an Elite Player and has also been given a summer contract with the club. He is the only player selected by the club who attends a state school.
Headteacher Kenny Fitzpatrick, said “We are very proud of Lewis and his rugby achievements.
“Sport is a particularly strong area for Cavendish School and we are so pleased to see Lewis go on to achieve this level of success.
This is a great opportunity and will prove a fantastic experience for him and will provide him with great opportunities for the future.”
Lewis will aim to follow in the foot steps of Eastbourne’s Joe Marler who plays for Harlequins and made his full England debut in South Africa in June.
