Mohawk Marler misses the Six Nations cut
Eastbourne prop forward Joe Marler narrowly missed out selection for England’s RBS Six Nations clash with Scotland.
The former Sussex Downs player was drafted into the provisional 32-man squad but failed to make the final match day cut. His Harlequins team-mate Matt Stevens received the nod for the final 22 and will take his place on the bench to provide cover for the props.
Earlier this year the colourful Marler was advised to get a ‘decent haircut’ by England head coach Stuart Lancaster in order to be selected for England.
Marler, 21, is equally known in rugby circles for his colourful Mohicans as he is for his aggressive, no-nonsense style of rugby.
