Polegate seek new talent at junior and senior net sessions

Polegate & Stone Cross Cricket Club is on the lookout for more players – both senior and junior.

At adult level, the club runs two Saturday sides in division three and nine of the East Sussex League.

Both sides hope to push for promotion in 2012. Adult nets are to be held on Wednesday evenings at St Bede’s School in Duke’s Drive, at the western end of the seafront, from 7pm until 8.30pm. The first session will be February 22, and nets will continue until the end of April. For more details contact: 07798-635-831

New players are also welcome in the Polegate & Stone Cross youth section. There are more than 50 young cricketers four teams and an expanding number of ECB-qualified coaches.

The Colts performed superbly in 2011, and the fun, structured coaching was rewarded with no fewer than 14 juniors selected to train and develop with the Sussex County Cricket Club area squads. Youngsters are welcome to join the U10s U11s, U12s or U14s. Winter nets are already underway on Wednesday evenings at Causeway School, and will continue until the end of March. Taster sessions are open to all. Ring Mark Gausden on 0791-992-3878 for more information.
