EASTBOURNE golfer Maria Tulley is having the best season of her career to date after adding another third-placed finish to her WPGA record.
Maria competed in Barnet earlier this month and carded a level par to finish third, meaning so far this year she has two third and one second-place finish already under her belt.
It’s her best string of results so far and stands her in good stead to qualify for the British Open on August, 27.
Elsewhere, Maria travelled to Barcelona to play in a Banesto event and finished just two shots off the prize money.
She finished 23rd overall and carded her best ever score in a Banesto tournament with a total of +6 for the two rounds.
In round one she shot a 73, hitting 10 fairways out of 13 and 16 out of 18 greens in regulation, leading her to declare her statistics the best she’s ever had.
However, her short game let her down with 33 putts in the first round and 36 in the second after hitting another great round of 75.
Maria is adamant that when, and if, the weather improves, that area of her game will receive constant attention in order to improve her overall game.
Next up for Maria is a trip to Cambridge where she will compete in the United Ladies Pro tour event on July 19-20.
After a short break to celebrate her birthday, she will then return to Barcelona for another Banesto event.
