Terrific trio triumph on the national stage

Eastbourne Swimming Club Masters team followed GB’s Olympic stars to Sheffield’s Ponds Forge International pool, scene of the Olympic Trials for the 2012 games.

Eastbourne’s small team competed in the British Gas National Masters and Senior age group Championships and came home with three British Champions.

Dave Cumming won the 200m Butterfly (70-74 age group), Adrian Wright the 800m Crawl (18-25 years) and Wendy Pritchard 50m Backstroke (45-49 years).

Sarah Knapman won 2 Bronze medals in the gruelling 60 length,1500m Crawl and 200m Butterfly. Adrian Wright also picked up silvers in the 1500m and 400 Individual Medley. Dave Cumming won Silvers in the 100m Fly and 400 IM.

This meant that Eastbourne swimmers brought home 9 National Medals from the International pool in Sheffield. Ian Woodward completed the team which, overall, took 19 top ten places between them..
