Mr Whippy lands prized turbot catch

IT’S quite rare that a big flatfish is caught locally on rod and line, but Jim Whippy did exactly that last week, catching this 12lb 7oz turbot in Eastbourne.

The fine fish was hauled in using a long strip of mackerel fished on a pennel rig while Jim was fishing on Steve Bradshaw’s ‘Deep Blue’ out of Sovereign Harbour.
