Jake ready to roar at
Winter Garden darts
Eastbourne’s Red Dragon Darts Open starts this weekend and 17 year-old Jake Jones will be looking to defend his title.
Rising star Jones beat Steve Webster in last year’s final 5-3 to take the £1,500 winner’s cheque.
The youngster from Staffordshire will no doubt be fending off some fierce competition from the older, more experienced players but the calm teenager will be confident to pull off another victory.
Jones also managed to reach the semi finals off both the Open and Men’s pairs, as well as the quarter finals of the Men’s and Youths Singles, a remarkable feat by anyone’s standards.
The competiton starts Friday and runs through to Sunday at the Winter Garden. Registration is from 4pm with matches starting from 6:30pm for Pairs night.
Doors open on Saturday 9am for registration for Men’s, Ladies and Youth Singles plus Mixed Triples in the afternoon. The finals will take place on Sunday from approx 6:30pm
