Young Downs captain is in the driving seat

Macauley England made the perfect start to his year as junior captain when he hit a monster drive from the top of the hut straight down the 18th fairway.

He then got the main competition underway with a Texas Scramble, accompanied by the club captain Phil Hanson, ladies captain Jenny Thomas and the seniors captain Dave Bell.

At the presentation afterwards junior organiser, Cyril Thomas, thanked outgoing junior captain Cameron Brown for all his hard work throughout the year; he then welcomed new junior captain Macauley England.

Macauley thanked everyone for their support and making it a memorable day for him and his family.

The winning team was Junior Tyrone Bruce with Sue Mills, Graham Mills and Keith Farmer. Runners up were Junior Louie Highfield, John Boniface, Marilyn Boniface, and Gary Slaughter.

The winning team with 4 adults was Caroline Abbot, Andy Moorland, Cliff Jones, and Nigel Smith.

Club captain Phil Hanson presented the prizes and thanked Dave and Marilyn Richardson for their generous support for the competition and prizes.
