Hot Rod racer Kym Weaver was disqualified from round five of the National Hot Rod Championship after being involved in a crash.

With ten laps to go at Ipswich a car pulled in front of Weaver which sent him spinning into two others at high speed. Race control black flagged Kym and striped him of all the points he won at the meet.

The 209’s team driver had been going well, finishing in sixth and eighth in the two previous heats but it was not his day.

At round six in Northampton Weaver bounced back with fourth and second place finishes in the two heats.

Kym got into third position before another driver turned in sending the green machine into the wall. Weaver was yellow flagged for being the cause of the stoppage.
