A sports lecturer from Sussex Downs College is gearing up to compete in the British Triathlon Federation’s European Championships.
Emma Richards, from Eastbourne, has worked at the College for six years and manages to squeeze in around 20 hours of training per week alongside her lecturing commitments.
Having competed in – and won – many races over the years, the keen athlete has qualified for the 2013 Alanya ETU Standard Distance Triathlon European Championships taking place in Turkey this June.
Emma is now appealing for support with her training and said, “I am hoping
to get enough financial support together to contribute towards the cost of the
European Championships to make it a viable trip, but any form of support at all
– financial or otherwise – would be appreciated.”
Emma is a member of Bodyworks XTC, Eastbourne Rovers CC and the Hailsham
Harriers. Her numerous achievements on the track include winning gold for Great Britain in the 2010 Long Course European and World Championships.
Anyone interested in supporting Emma can contact her on: firstname.lastname@example.org 01323 410376 or 07780 700568.
