Hailsham Jump Trampoline Club had a real spring in their step after enjoying success at the British Schools Trampoline Championships last Saturday.

They took children from HCC and partnership schools Hawkes Farm, Grovelands, Willingdon, Causeway and Bishop Bell to Birmingham for the final round of the keenly contested competition.

The day started at 8.30am with all the primary School and Disability categories which included Ethan Holliman from Grovelands in under-11 C2.

This was the first time disabilities had gone all the way to Nationals and Ethan won his section making him under-11 C2 National Champion.

Hawkes Farm Girls in under-11 Novice also had Lois Cull competing as an individual.

This category was very tight with the top six teams and nine individuals from all over Great Britain making up the final.

Lois completed two very good routines and came second overall and her team Gaby Overy, Ellie Callaway, Abi Wood were deservedly crowned National champions after a fine display for the second year running.

The afternoon session was longer with three flights running over the next six hours. Under-14 Boys a new team for HCC came fourth under-14 Intermediate Boys came sixth, unfortunately with only three people in the team and one making a mistake at the start of the set routine they were fighting a big battle.

All did very well in this first time category at Nationals. Joe Barry as an individual came in fifth.

Under 19 Novice girls were next and getting used to the trampolines was causing problems and again the standard was very high they finished fifth and the under-14 Elite girls finished fifth.

This too was a very young team of mixed years from seven to nine. It has been a while since they have qualified in this category and they are sure they will as a team succeed in future years. Under-19 Novice Sammy Heath finished fourth (Causeway), under-14 Novice Jade Hatcher finished sixth (Bishop Bell) and under-19 Novice Bob Sandalls finished eighth (HCC).

The final two categories of the day were to prove the most successful for HCC and Willingdon.

The under-14 Intermediate girls Emily Cole, Kaci Stevens, Megan Bastable and Rebecca Thompson finished team third.

Four Girls from under-19 Intermediate section Talx Leszniwskyj, Toria Southam, Ria Beckett and Zoe Miller found form and won by over five points and were crowned under-19 Intermediate National Champions (HCC ).

Lauren Elles from Willingdon finished the successful day and scored the highest of everyone with 57.3 out of 60.00 to be crowned U19 Intermediate Individual National Champion.
