Standing room only at junior awards night

With a junior section of well over 150 boys and girls, it was standing room only in the Saffrons clubhouse for the end of season awards night .

The club has training for boys and girls from the ages of six up to 16 and all age groups were represented at the event hosted by club chairman Ian Fletcher-Price.

The numerous awards were presented by Charlotte Burton (Sussex Women’s Cricket Association director of cricket).

Juniors’ chairman, Paul Hacker, commented, “This has been the most difficult season ever due to the weather with well over half of the scheduled games cancelled, and thanks must go to all the parents and players for their understanding and support over the season”.

The award winners in the various age groups were as follows: Boys U10 Batting: Sebastian Bradley; Boys U10 Bowling: Zak Hebron;

Girls U11 Batting: Ella Yardley; Girls U11 Bowling: Lauren Seagrief

Boys U11a Batting: George Gough; Boys U11a Bowling:James Bradley;Boys U11 Batting: Alastair Orr;Boys U11 Bowling: Joe Walmsley;Boys U12 Batting: Charlie Edwards;Boys U12 Bowling: Harry Chell; Girls U13 Batting: Megan Gates;Girls U13 Bowling: Ella Press;Boys U13 Batting: Tom Gordon;Boys U13 Bowling: Joe Pocklington;Girls U15 Batting: Abbie Press; Girls U15 Bowling: Lucy Robinson; Boys U15 Batting: Ted Smith; Boys U15 Bowling: Ryan Mansell.

The junior chairman also gave a huge thank you to the following for their help with the Junior Section over the season, Murray Schofield, Terry Daniels, Roo Arno, Lisa Boniface, Ian Bradley, Sara Lord, Kevin Key and Ian Fletcher-Price.
