Eastbourne athlete Seb Rodger finished the season with a flourish by winning the 400m hurdles at the Intercounties championship.
Rodger was representing Sussex and was running against some of the best senior UK county hurdlers in Bedford.
He romped to victory in 50.65s, a full second clear of his nearest rival. Already a junior international at decathlon and the flat 400 metres, the Under 23 UK champion has concentrated on the 400 metres hurdles this season with great success.
Seb is now ranked second in UK for the Under 23s and has risen to the second best Sussex one-lap hurdler ever,
Only former European bronze medallist Andy Todd (Brighton & Hove) has run faster and he remains the only Sussex athlete to break 50.0 sec for the event, albeit some forty years ago.
Rodger,, however, is now getting very close with a best of 50.50s this season.
