Scooter stunt rider Dante Hutchinson will head to the European Championships next week brimming with confidence having signed a professional deal with American giants Team Lucky.
The 12-year-old first amazed the crowds at Eastbourne Extreme three-years ago. Dante proved one of the star attractions and thrilled hundreds with his fearless tricks and smooth style.
Since then Dante has continued to fine-tune his skills and became an academy rider for worldwide company GRIT UK.
Earlier this month he won his category at the X-Fest at Santa Pod Raceway in Northamptonshire. His two-minute performance was full of complex jumps and tricks that impressed the judges.
His display on the Santa Pod ramps didn’t go unnoticed by American outfit Team Lucky who are headed by world champion Dakota Scheutz.
Team Lucky were quick to offer him full sponsorship and signed Dante as a professional rider - in doing so, he became the first rider from the UK to represent the American team.
Next week Dante, nephew of Seaford Town Football Club manager Tobi Hutchinson, will pack his bags, load his scooter and head to Prague to represent Team Lucky in the ISA European Championships 2013.
His mum Sian Hutchinson said, “We are all very proud of Dante’s achievements.
“He trains so hard and most weekends we will not see him as it’s 12-hours a day for him. He enjoys it so much and we are pleased he’s doing something he enjoys and something constructive.
“The skateparks can get a bad reputation but Dante and other kids like him are athletes and are working extremly hard. His You Tube video filmed at the skatepark has been seen by more than 16,000 people. It was a fantastic day, the park looked fantastic and we are hearing from people all across America saying they want to come Eastbourne.
“It’s all very positive and good for the community.”
