Nadia Silva won the title of Best Ladies Lifter at the International All-Round Weighlifting Association Power Lifting Championships on April 4.
At the event inTiverton, Eastbourne’s Silva, 29, put in a fantastic display by lifting a total of 250kg.
Her superb performance from Nadia saw her take the British Record in the squat (75kg) and the World Record in the Bench Press (55kg).
Local gym MetamorFIT gym, had five lifters representing the club in Eastbourne, with 25 lifters from around the country lifting in squat bench-press and dead lift disciplines.
Joe Morris, 22 also from Eastbourne, put in an equally superb display and was rewarded with the title of Best Open Male Lifter after lifting a hefty total of 505kg.
Meanwhile, Rory Hoad, 27 was in record-breaking mood as well and he went on to break the British Bench Press record with a lift of 120.5kg.
The gym is now in preparation for the next International All-Round Weighlifting Association competitions.
The Southern Shield and the Viking Strongman challenge are both due to take place in May and the gym will be looking for another good showing.
The International All-Round Weightlifting Association is the only drug free all-round weightlifting federation, recognising Power Lifting, Olympic Lifting and around 150 other lift disciplines.
MetamorFIT have around 15 competitive lifters that are members of the association, including five ladies and caters for age ranges from 22 through to 66 years old.
