Southdown held their annual charity match for the Roger Weston Memorial Trophy on Sunday at Middle Bridge.
The water level is well down and a little clear due to lack of rain but the venue fished well in places.
As an experiment, the match was fished to some continental type rules with a pre-baiting period before the match began in earnest.
Winner on the day was Peter Gabbitas with 13-2-0 of bream and skimmers. Joint second and third were Denis Ramsden and Trevor Hoad with mainly roach for 7-5-0.
Fourth was Grenville Weston with 4-3-0 of small skimmers and roach.
Dick Griffin won the points match with two small gudgeon; these along with ruffe and tench being the only fish that counted.
Overall £108 was raised for charity that winner Peter decided to split between the Parkinsons UK charity and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Thanks to all those that participated, donated raffle prizes and helped with the arrangements.”
