It was in the late 1970s that the bowlers of Eastbourne got together to launch a much needed Indoor Bowling Club.

Although there were some nine outdoor clubs, this only satisfied their bowling needs during Summer months.

Bowlers would have to go as far away as Hastings or Bexhill to bowl during the winter.

The result of their efforts was a fine six-rink indoor club, complete with a licenced bar and dining facilities.

The club has developed since then with the addition of a number of Social activities and created a number of bowlers of International Standard and at least one World Champion.

To celebrate its 35 years of existance, the Club is opening its doors to the general public on Saturday 18th of August and Sunday 19th August from 10 am to 6 pm.

They are invited to ‘have a go’ and see if it’s the kind of activity that would suit them.

Everyone is welcome, of any age. Bowls will be available, as well as free tea or coffee

The Club are also offering up to four two-hour coaching sessions at no additional cost.

No need to book, just turn up on the day. The Club is situated in the Park, 5, Hampden Park Drive, Eastbourne.
