Nuthouse A, last season’s division two champions of the Eastbourne and District Snooker League, joined last season’s champions Glastonbury B in a two way tie at the top of division one on 19 points from five matches played.
Nuthouse A defeated Angling Club A 5-0 with emphatic wins from Ian Townsend, Matt Walter, Marcel Compton, Glen Williams and Martin Noakes.
Glastonbury B enjoyed a 4-1 home win over HMI Rutherfords. Dave Smith, the Rutherfords captain, defeated Martin Wright 63-24 for the solitary Rutherfords point.
Hailsham MI C were the visitors at the Polegate Legion Club to take on the A team.
In a close contest the HMI C managed a 3-2 win to keep them in third spot in the table.
Mark Saunders the Polegate Legion captain pocketed a 48 break on his way to beat Ash Bull 77-19.
Dolphin A secured a 4-1 away win against Hailsham MI A to take them into fourth place in the table, there were wins from Mark Crotty, Paul Binks, Nik Driver and Peter Buckland.
Steve Jones for HMI A outpointed Phil White 54-18 for the solitary home win.
Glastonbury F entertained Meads A, Mike Goodwin and Andy Simpson won the two opening frames for the home team.
Gavin Pierce and Paul Denness replied for Meads A. Bill Hunt took the other Glastonbury point with a walkover.
Nuthouse B recorded a hard-fought 3-2 home win over Glastonbury C.
The match was decided on the final frame as Phil Feneron stopped Mick Compton on the black 42-41 for the Nuthouse B team victory.
The Workingmens Club A had a 3-2 home win over Seaford Con Club.
Pete Abbotts, Brian Bearne and Trevor Binks secured the Workers winning frames while Andy Coe along with Mick Walsh replied for Seaford Con.
Fishermens Club E and Glastonbury A, who were both promoted last season, came head to head at the Fishermens Club.
The Glastonbury A-team took the honours with a 3-2 victory.
Tokki Yamaguchi, Paul Croft and the skipper Matt Smith recorded the winning frames. Dave Proud and Mike Neilan replied for the Fish E outfit.
