Eastbourne’s Ladies had a successful weekend in the National Inter Club competition.
In the derby against Langney Sports they won three of the four rinks for a 111-50 overall margin.
At home, Judy White, Margery Campbell, June Liggins and Pat Bain all played well and led 15-8 after ten ends going on to win 27-12 against Sheila Holman’s team.
Also at home Sue Taylor, Beth Clarke , Renee Baker and Sheila Simmons who led 14-4 after ten ends finishing with a big win 30-10 against Kath Selby.
Playing in the away half of the game Pat White, Pauline Davies, Phyllis Stevens and Cora White settled quickly against Eddy Vine’s side to lead 17-4 after ten ends and finished with a thumping win 36-7. After struggling for the first 12 ends when they trailed 20-2, Pauline Nash, Ursula Fenner, Gill Hill and Ann Summers they staged a magnificent fight back to only lose 19-21. The next game will be against Falaise IBC.
In the Mason Trophy, the Ladies “B” team beat Adur “B” 41-38.
The home leg was played by Pauline Nash, Judy White, Gill Hill and Pat Bain who won 25-24 after trailing 16-7 after ten ends.
the fought back to win 25-24 after scoring a tremendous seven shots on the last end. in the away leg Pat White, Pauline Davies, Sheila Simmons and Cora White had a Titanic fight against W Bibby. After ten ends the score was 8-9 to Adur by winning the last four ends with single shots they came home with a brilliant 16-14 win giving Eastbourne a three shot win 41-38.
