Langney mixed-team success

A mixed team from Langney IBC met Preston in the first round of the Egham Trophy.

Langney took the lead from the first end being ahead 45-30 after 10 ends and continued to win the match.

Playing at home, Rene Cook, Julia Savin, Stuart Holland and Colin Smith beat R.Taylor 23-20 and Josie Martin, Julia Savin, Martin Biggleston and Malcolm Fuller saw off A.Michael 30-18. 

Playing away, Robert Harris, Edie Vine, Pat Brett and Alan Rowden defeated J.Laker 18-11 and Audrey Wheeldon, John Bremner, Sheila Holmans and Alan Craig went down 26-14 to R.George 14-26.

The final score was a 85-75 win to Langney which ensured their progress into the next round.
In the Ladies’ National 2 Wood Triples, Kath Selby, Rose Riggs and Mavis Buist from Langney met Sandra Godfrey, Jenny Bainbridge and Stella Colehill from Adur.

It was a very close game and on the 17th end the score was 14-13.

On the last end. Langney were holding one shot which Adur took out. Kath then took the jack back leaving Langney holding one again and when Sandra bowled her last wood into the ditch the Langney ladies won 15-13.

In the Ladies’ National Triples, Audrey Wheeldon, Pat Brett and Brenda Tarrant travelled to Wealden won 16-12.
