Eastbourne Hockey Club Ladies were left deflated on Saturday after their 3-0 loss to Wimbledon condemned them to life in the Sussex Premier League.

The Ladies have been hampered all season by depleted numbers but, despite a brave battle, found themselves relegated after finishing 10th in the South Clubs’ Division 3b.

There was a silver lining to the Ladies’ weekend though as they booked their place in the final of the Sussex Plate with a 3-1 victory over Burgess Hill. Goals from Claire Noble, Steph Black and Megan Beckett sealed their place in the final, where South Saxons await on May, 18th.
