It’s Wooller by three

The men’s March medal competition was well supported and the unseasonal weather resulted in some exceptional scoring.

Division one: Mike Wooller had a gross 76, net 64 to win by three strokes from Paul Houston, and is now 11 handicap as a result. Third spot went Phil Snook with a net 67. Division two: Adam Hamill’s 77 gross, net 60, was good enough to take first prize here, four ahead of Andre Wilson, who in turn was three better than Gary Baxter. Division three: Lowest net of the day, the magic 59 was returned by Ben Hervey, his gross being 79. No less than six shots adrift was Austin Hayes, net 65, gross 87. Robin Comber had to settle for third with a respectable net 67.

The WILLINGDON Johnson Trophies a fourball better ball competition took place last Sunday and was won by Rasoul Shahilow and Tony Uden with an excellent 47 points. Runners-up with 46 points were Tony Rochester and Darren Jarvis and in third spot with 45 points were Kevin Redmond and Mark Wootten.

Willingdon’s fourball betterball winter knock out competition was completed last weekend and the winners of the Bob Henley Winter Fourball Trophy are Richard Booth and Mike Rham who beat Dean Jarvis and Calvin Jarvis in the final. In joint place were two father and son combinations of David Harmer and Dave Harmer Junior and Neil Wathen and George Wathen.
