Eastbourne’s Jamie Howard followed up his win in Herne Bay with victory in round four of the 2012 UKWA Freestyle Windsurfing tour.
Eastbourne provided great conditions which was part of the Eastbourne Extreme events
Howard gained his first place in the Junior Class on his home water.
The wind quickly filled in on Saturday morning to provide a perfect setting for the freestylers to demonstrate their skills.
Four rounds of competition allowed the Junior, Amateur and Pro sailors to really show off their skills with some amazing slides, pops and spins.
Sunday morning was warm, sunny with very light northerly winds, providing perfect conditions for some tow-in Freestyle (behind a jet-ski) and the Pro sailors gave a fantastic show of their tricks only a few meters away from the beach.
In the afternoon the wind picked up enough to run another three rounds of competition to round off a fantastic weekend.
Jamie, 16, has just finished his GCSE’s at Bishop Bell School and only started competing last year.
He is sponsored by RRD Boards & Sails, Surfladle and Fuss3 Printer Supplies.
Event five will be held at Poole Windfest in September.
