Hungarian Arn has too much know-how for brave Brit Windley

The dream is over for Britain’s brave Jade Windley after she was beaten in the third round of qualifying to world number 105 Greta Arn.

The young Brit was just one step away from reaching the main draw at the AEGON International after staging an impressive comeback against world number 77 Stephanie Foretz Gacon in yesterday’s second round.

The 22-year-old, ranked 543 in the world, came from one set and 4-0 down to beat the Frenchwoman and book her place in the third round of qualifying.

However, the starlet could not repeat her success on court three this morning, losing in straight sets to Hungarian Arn.

Arn raced to the straight-sets win in less than an hour, breaking Windley’s serve on numerous occassions to record a 6-2, 6-0 score line.

She will now take the place in the main draw alongside fellow qualifier Laura Robson, who enjoyed victory on centre court this morning.
