Eastbourne teenager Jack Hibbert hopes to make the grade for the England cerebral palsy development squad.

Jack will find out in three weeks whether he has been selected to represent the country in the Home Nations Tournament held in Belfast.

The 17-year-old captained the side in one of the games in last year’s competition, which was held in Scotland.

Jack played mainstream football up until the age of 14, before switching to play with other teenagers with cerebral palsy.

Since then he has played with the Manchester City youth development team, where he was player of the year in the 2009/2010 season, and now plays for the London Regional team that trains in Greenwich. It was from there that he was spotted and invited to join the England Development Team two years ago.

Jack’s parents are looking for sponsorship to cover the travel costs of playing for the London Regional team in Greenwich.

He needs to continue playing with a regional side in order to be able to compete on a national level.
