Following an outstanding season for Eastbourne RFC (Rugby Football Club) Under 15s there is more good news as a member of the side has been awarded a place at the prestigious Harlequins School of Rugby.
After a rigorous selection process Eastbourne’s Harvey Warren, a pupil at Ratton School, has been invited to join a squad of twenty-five of the best players from the whole of Sussex.
Harvey is the third player from this Eastbourne RFC side to attract Harlequin’s attention after the selection of Luke James and Angus Bingham back in 2012.
The Harlequins School of Rugby is the first step within a programme that can potentially lead onto Harlequins’ own Academy and Elite Player Development Group.
Mike Chapman, lead coach of the Eastbourne RFC Under 15s was delighted with the news and commented, “Harvey’s achievement is just reward for a player with great natural ability and a tremendous work ethic.
“As almost half of the Harlequins’ full-time professional squad came through their Academy programme, Harvey’s deserved selection is an exciting development both for him and for Eastbourne Rugby Club.”
Any boy in year 10 from September 2014 who is interested in joining this successful and friendly Eastbourne team should contact Mike
