Hailsham Men lifted themselves by one place in Sussex Open Division one with victory over bottom of the table Horsham Mens thirds at Broadbridge Heath on Saturday.

Horsham started the stronger and took an early lead before Hailsham asserted control and scored 2 goals from short corner routines, Sam Headey and Matt Wood the scorers.
Hailsham came out in the second half with blistering pace and continued to control the game.

Good defence work from Scott Collier and captain Dan Ivemy kept the Horsham attack at bay, whilst Tristan Pengilly, Lee Humber and Alex Smith, attacked from midfield through the Horsham defences, with Pengilly scoring twice, Smith once and setting up Headey for two more goals to complete a hat-trick.

Next week the team are in action against top of the league Mid Sussex Mens 2s.

The Hailsham Millers and the ladies were without a game last weekend.
