Hailsham continue march to top flight with impressive whitewash

Hailsham MI B took another step towards automatic promotion into Division One of the Eastbourne Snooker League with a 5-0 trouncing of Hailsham Club A.

Darren Jeffory, Dean Goodall, Clive Kidman, Barry Kent and Hugh Galt posted the winning frames.

Railway A maintained the lead in Division Two following a 4-1 away win over Hailsham MI E. Gavin Wright (34 break) Emmerson Isted, Paul Goacher and Gary Moseley had the Railway wins.

A final frame 71-33 for Peter Crouch over Owen Williams prevented the whitewash

Polegate Legion B travelled to Hailsham to face Hailsham Club A, the match was tied at two frames apiece. Ian Izzard won the match for the Legion outpointing Ray Woolston 61-14

Devonshire Club A entertained Eastbourne Workingmens B. The match was decided on the final frame - Dave Noakes for the Workers defeated Tim Stirmey 54-27 for a 3-2 Workers B winning margin.

The top end of the league table clash between HMI Topaz & Bollards was won by Topaz 3-2.

Bollards went two frames up with wins from Allan Mills and Phil Marsden. The Topaz replied by winning the next three via the cues of Mark Gent, Paul Marshall, and the match winning frame from Kia Movaf over Chris Lock 59-32.

Andy Lawrence posted a 42 break for Hellingly against Dave Taylor of Transport. Nigel Greenham won the last frame 52-23 against the busboys skipper Ray Swatridge for 3-2.

Division 3 leaders Hailsham MI D continued their good form with a 4-1 away victory against Glastonbury D.

Simon Watts, Scott Fever, Mark Galt and Matt Dawber recorded the HMI D winning frames. Chris Healey, the Glastonbury D captain, prevented the whitewash with a 68-23 win over Scott Vidler in the opening frame.

The derby match between Eastbourne Con Club and Dolphin F played at the Devonshire Club went the way of Dolphin F 3-2; Steve Pollard for Dolphin F defeating Norman Griffin for the team victory.

Fire Brigade were in hot form taking all five frames from Hailsham Club B at the Royal Naval Club. Keith Hobden, John Olive, Pete Marsden, Roger Easy and Robin Wilkinson gained the Brigades wins.

Glastonbury E entertained Hailsham MI F but the visitors could only manage one frame win in the first frame of the match - Scott McClean outpointing Ashley Barton 46-33. Jody, Damien & Robin Mills along with Colin Hadland scoring the winning frames for Glastonbury E.

Seaford Legion pushing for automatic promotion back into Division Two did their case no harm with a 4-1 home victory against Fishermens A.

Tony Deragon for the Fish A won the opening frame 58-25 against Darren Wells for the solitary away point. Matt Pynn, Ian Robb, Brian McCullen and Martin Coombs won for the Legion.

XREA Railway entertained R.N.O.C. A and won the final frame to record a 3-2 victory. Liam Brooks outpointed John Keller for the XREA win.

Angling Club B won the first three frames against Hailsham Club C. for the 3-2 match win. Matt Barker & Brian Sparks replied for the Hailsham Club C
