Over 400 parents and children turned up to take part in a football festival hosted by St Andrew’s School last Saturday.
There were 19 teams from clubs in and around the local area, comprising of children from Under 7, Under 8 and Under 9 age groups.
The tournament was a ‘friendly’ with no winners or losers, but each player did receive a medal, and a ‘golden boot’ was presented to outstanding performers by the Headmaster, Simon Severino.
Despite the mist and rain rolling off the Downs there was a fantastic turnout and everyone enjoyed tea and cake in the school pavilion after the matches.
Joint Director of Sport at St Andrew’s, Chris Pinch, who also runs CACL coaching, said, “It was a pleasure to see so many children and parents enjoying a festival designed to promote the friendly side of the game.”
