Jack and Josh Bennett performed well to take home medals from the Sussex Grand Prix Table tennis Tournament hosted at the Triangle, Burgess Hill on the Bank Holiday weekend.

This was Josh’s first open senior tournament and he showed his strength, taking two titles in band five and six mixed singles.

Josh was thrilled to play Paralympian David Weatherill in the final of band five - Josh took the win 3-0.

Not to be outdone, older brother Jack was runner-up of band three and reached his first open mens singles semi final after beating the number two seed and number 15 in England senior Craig Bryant, in the quarter finals.

It was a thrilling 5 set battle, with Jack finally overcoming the SE regional coach Craig, with some breathtaking rallies.

Jack finally succumbed to the number three seed and overall winner Emran Hussain.

Teresa Bennett also competed and took the ladies band three title and was runner up to Josh in the band six singles.

These successes follow last weeks performances in the Sussex closed championships, where Jack took the junior singles title beating younger brother Josh 3-1 in the final.
